Hello blogers.

One of our best friends got married- at last- with all ceremony, so I had to make their wish book. The bride's choice was ivory and purple and I complemented it with green with this result:

It was the first time I used fabric for the cover, but it was rather easier than I expected. All the inside pages- odd and even- were decorated (after Katerina's advice), stamped and heat embossed.

The wedding took place in a cute little church and the feast after was superb! The decorations matched exactly with the color of the book, which was placed in a large table by the pool.

Thanks guys for the honor, and I wish you a long happy life.

The only piece of clothing my daughter cares for are shoes. She likes fancy, embellished shoes.

Last year she was in love with a pair of sandals that had sea shells attached. This year she decided to make her own sandals using her "scrapbooking supplies" (she is very fond of her supplies and when she is not crafting, she often rearranges her stash to accomodate her stuff in a "better" way)

So, we bought a plain leather pair of flip-flops during the summer holidays and using left-over beads and ribbon she transformed them, and wears them proudly all the time!

This year my daughter asked to go to a children's camp. We had our reservations (see she is not only an only child, she is THE only child of our extended family!) Every grandparent, aunt or uncle was sure that she will come back home within a week.

But she is stronger than everybody thinks, so she stayed the full three weeks, had a fabulous time and has plans for the next year already.

The photos are from the first week's parent visit.

I have months to play in a challenge, so my layout is inspired from both Get Creative challenges (Elina's 8 embellishments & Chrysa's sketch) and Nadia's sketch ( My journaling is from the song "Καλοκαιρι" by D.Savopoulos).

Each year I spend the month following my vacation or trip, trying to compile a "vacation album" (a photo book , a scrapbook or even a journal). But in between the process of finding the perfect photos, recollecting all the important memories etc, I loose my interest and leave the project unfinished. I have many pages from different vacations, but never a finished book!

So, this year, I changed my method. I bought a POGO printer and ordered a "smash" to take along and decided to keep a vacation journal on the spot. One that starts the first day of the vacation and ends the day before return. In this way I was hoping that I will record everything as they happened and spend some pleasant time as well.

The "smash" arrived but I was rather dissapointed (too romantic and flowery for me) so I sewed some watercolor papers and made my own vacation journal. Perhaps it is nor so perfect neither so bright as my last year's scrapbooking pages, but it is totally me, it is my story, it is finished and I love it.

PS As I am sure that I will never use the "smash" and as a bonus to my readers that read through the end, I will send the "smash" to a lucky follower that leaves a message under this post. The candy will be open until the 1st of September and all you have to do is spread the word(you may use the picture below with a link back here if you want ), be a follower and leave a message. I will post everywhere, so international followers are welcome to play. Good luck!

I would also like to mention that the image transfer of the European Leaders, is from a sketch by E. Ksenou from a Greek newspaper

Hello everybody! It's been a long time since my last post but I am on vacation, far from the city and far from reliable internet connections!

I will share with you the view from my balcony, to see how lucky I am. This balcony is the perfect place. In the shadow of two big pine trees , surrounded by many flowers and vines, with only the whisper of the sea and the summer breeze to listen to. Magic.

In other words, it is the perfect place for art journaling!

As some of you already know, I had ordered the new "smash" notebook for the vacation scrapbooking. However, it was delayed by the post, and in my first week here, I decided to make a vacation journal with some spare paper I had with me. And of course it was watercolor paper. Combined with some canson it gave me the perfect vacation journal.

My Derwent pencils and some sprays are all I need this summer. Oh, and my POGO printer.

That's all for now - you won't believe the time I spent to upload these pictures. I hope that you are in an equally beautiful summer place.

Hugs,

Myrto.

I am a student at Miss Art's and last month Heidi Kelley (my fav teacher) presented us with a layout that was very -very interesting. I scraplifted it and here is the result:

I love the empty space of the page, and all these details packed in a so small space. I love the idea of the torn paper. I sprayed and misted it, used my distress inks to it and of course shimmerz paints. The stamp is an old one from Hero Arts, the flowers from K company and my stash, the flourishes from Sfragidomania. All the rest from my stash sprayed in coordinate colors. (I have more than 40 mists and sometimes feel they are not enough!!!!)
