"The Guardians of the Sun"

"The young man entered the kitchen and looked at the older man. He was sitting by the fire and his mind was obviously wandering. His hand was resting at his open journal in his lap. "Who knows which part of the world the great -grandpa is travelling now. I would die to lay my hands on his journal!" thought the man.

Because the old man sitting by the fire, was The Explorer.  The man who drew the maps of the known world. The man who lived with the savages for years and years. The man who learned by the wizards and priests of  tribes lost long ago. The man who has lived more than any other man has ever lived.

The legent says that The Explorer became what he is after entering a lost Mayan Temple. They say that he reemerged weeks later, long after his comrades have lost hope, looking fresh and young, with his arms around an old book with a sun symbol. He never talked about what he found inside, how he sustained himself all this time or how he became younger and stronger. And he let noone touch the book. But from then on, he was seen making entries almost each day. Many tried to steal the book to read it. But to everyone else, the book looked blank with only some old symbols and decorations in its pages.....

The man approached the older version of himself full of curiosity, but the old explorer springed to life and closed the journal. "Hey Boy - what do you want?" "

This is the journal of an explorer, its name is "The Guardians of the Sun" and is part of my "Travel Series".

The artwork on the covers gives the impression of a very old book, a relic saved from an old and extinct civilization. The focal point is a metal stamping, treated with patinas to look old, and depicts the symbol of the sun. The covers are embossed, painted and distressed. The finish has been made with several layers of ecological varnishes, to protect the artwork and ensure the vitality of colors for many years to come.

And for those of you who want to browse this journal, I have prepared a video

Feels good to create something for the sake of creation! Do it- it feels really good!
