Hello bloggers. I am back. I have spent four great days in one of my magical spots - a stone house by the river Ladonas. The nearest village is a 20 minutes ride, so we were far from everything and able to enjoy nature without the spoil of people.
It was also the first trip for our dog Jerry, and although he didn't agree with the car ride, he discovered the world again. Bees, arachnoids, butterflies, snakes and lizzards, sheep and goats, even river crabs - all were new for him. He was running around with an air of excitement, smelling everything and barking happily.
Before we left, I had decided that I need a break from my art, so I hadn't packed anything. But my mum and hubby kept saying that I HAD to take something with me, just in case. In the morning of our departure, while everybody else was already in the car and I was locking the house, I threw in a plastic bag, a pencil, my journal, and Derwent Inktense pencils, sure that they were going to stay packed and return intact.
Well my mum and DH knew better as you can see, because from the first day my hands were itching and I had to do something. My sketching skills are beyond awful and it is one of my resolutions that I should practice and practice, but when I am at my desk with my printer around, I tend to forget it. But as I had no other choice, and with help from my DH - whose various skills are including sketching -, I managed to complete three pages and have many happy hours under the sun by the river.
