Hello girls, and welcome to a new challenge by Get Creative. As you may already know, this month I am a guest designer replacing my friend Efi. And believe me - it is a very difficult task to replace such a talented lady!

So, our first challenge for this month is a color scheme:

"Pink" , I hear you saying, "you will make a pink layout?" Ok I admit it. Pink is not one of my favorite colors. However, this combo recompensated the use of pink and I managed to fit girly pink and vintage elements in a layout! See for yourself

And if you wonder where I found my embellishments, I craft them myself. In my early scrapbooking years a large part of my budget and crafting space was allocated to embellishments. I used to spend hours looking through my stash for the right embellishment, but always something didn't quite fit. You know what I am talking about - they are not quite the right size, their color does not exactly match the paper and how much better it would look like if....

So the 3-D circles are made by enfolded common copy paper printed with a text script. The white background details are gesso over a stencil. The main flower and the dragonfly are recycled clear plastic with a handmade paper bead, and the background papers are just painted corrugated board and a recycled prima package.

In case you are interested how I made the plastic dragonfly and the flower I have prepared a video for you

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to visit my fellow DT's for more inspiration. We are waiting to see your creations!

Today I have a "mixed- media" post.

I made a small notebook for a comission

a diaper cake for a baby boy

and an art journaling page

And all these while cooking for the celebrations tomorrow and battling with the flu.
Not bad, sometimes I feel like having an unknown pool of strength. (Hmmm perhaps he has a name- DH thanks)

I just realised that I haven't posted anything in my blog for a while. Not only that, but I found out that I have delivered most of the books I've made this month, without even getting any photos. This feels rather bad, as I was particularly proud of two of them.

Well, next time I hope that I will be more careful! Don't laugh girls - I will try!

So today I will show you some stamped books I made at the beginning of the month. They were ment mostly for gifts.

It is difficult to create art for someone else, as you have to consider what this person would really like. It is even more difficult to create something for someone to give as a gift. You know nothing about the final recipient, so there are no "hints" to help you create. Lol, I hope you can understand what I am saying here!

So , most of the following books were made for older women and one for a dancer. I really hope they liked them. I hand-stamped and heat-embossed all the even pages.

I promise to come back soon with some art journals.

Hugs,

Myrto

During the last few weeks, I feel that my mojo has gone on vacation. Although, I did an art journal class with Tracy Bautista and I am a member of Effy Wild's "Booke of days" (an art journal page a day), seems that I lack courage to attack a page and elaborate.

As a result, my pages are simple and quick, and are based on a simple sketch I saw somewhere, and not in my need to express a feeling. The good news are that I am not overwhelmed by a simple sketch anymore - I managed to make simple art journal faces (or to copy them from Effy's work, to be precise). For me, a person who cannot draw a straight line, even these are something.
