This is my second post for today- sorry about that- but I just realised that I had not uploaded my SSS&S project for this week. The theme is anything but a card, so I altered a bottle.

I made it look old and somehow rusty. When my daughter came to see what I am doing she said "Look Dad, mum destroyed a bottle - it is really dirty now!" Well, I am not dispirited, as she doesn't like anything old or vintage lately. She rather hates them passionately!

It is a beer bottle that has many many layers of different mediums : gesso, acrylics, embossing powders, crackle mediums, even sprays. The label is from an Etsy digi set with vintage labels.

Sorry about the photos, but are taken with my mobile.
This month, the girls at Get Creative are having a marathon of challenges. Every few days they post a new one. There are layout challenges, as well as card challenges, digital challenges even a box challenge. Go and check it out- I am sure you will find a challenge for you!

I will play with two cards. For Natasha's challenge, a clean-n-simple card:

I will also play with Charisma Cardz.

And for Marie's challenge a card with die-cuts:

I will alos play with 2sisters that ask for embossing, craft your days away and delightful sketches that ask for distessing, and so artful challenges with their color scheme.

Today I want to show you a diaper cake. In fact it is not a cake at all! It is a diaper tricycle!

It was made for a commission, and it was supposed to be something very special for a very good friend of the lady who ordered it.

I had to make something from diapers but I wanted something different than a common cake. I had seen in Amalia's blog, a bear on a motorcycle but this seemed a bit boyish, while the newborn was a girl. So I turned it into a tricycle and I believe it is rather cute.

Congratulations on your newborn! I wish you happiness and fulfillment of all desires!

And a layout for a change!

I was in inspired by Swirlydoos color combo AND sketch. For me that means many Wows! They also had a tutorial in Lynne's blog which is what I used to make the swirls. I only substituted gesso with smooth modelling paste for extra dimention. The people there are so talented that I enjoyed visiting each designer's blog, starting with my favorite Heidi Kelley!

Enough of chatting - here is what I made:

I will play with Swirlydoos as I was inspired by them, in SSS&S because first they are my favorite challenge site and second I have many "red letters" in my project , and in Scrap for Help as the recycled part in work are obvious (two recycled market tags behind the photo). I will play, also, with Effie's challenge in Get Creative

My Christmas Journal

Happy 2012 blogfriends.

Today I want to show you my Christmas journal.

It is the second year I participate in JYC by Shimelle Laine. But this year the prompts were not feeling quite right for me. My fellow Greeks will know why: Shimelle talks about the glamour, the glitter and the festivities of the season, while here in Greece we have a hard time - a time of "cuts". We try to cut our national debt but in the meantime we have cut our wages, our dreams, our hopes and of course the festivities!

So, I kept the manifesto from Shimelle's course and the rest of the book is a simple record keeping of our December of 2011. The papers are mostly from Simple Stories, but I also used many things from my stash.
